St. Constance School Science Club

St. Constance School was recently offered the opportunity to facilitate a science club after-school program as part of a partnership with the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. During this after-school science program, students will develop their science process skills through inquiry-based activities to discover the true nature of science. By asking questions, making observations, creating models and conducting investigations, students will hone their scientific skills that foster critical thinking. As part of their hands-on investigations, students will practice constructing explanations, collaborating with others, and communicating findings. At the end of the learning experience, all students who took part in the club will visit the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.

Second Grade student, William Markevich, was named Grand National Grade-Level Champion of Zaner-Bloser's 2016 National Handwriting Contest! He ranked 1st out of about 40,000 second-grade students who competed in this contest. Well done to William's teacher, Ms. Patricia Prokuski, for doing such an excellent job working with her students on their handwriting skills! This is the third time a student at St. Constance School won National Champion in their grade level! Wait, there's more winners! Third-grader, Phillip Kaczor and seventh-grader, Ysabelle Pinpin are state level winners in this competition! Congratulations and great job to William, Phillip, and Ysabelle! We are all so proud of you! Pictured with William and his parents is Zaner-Bloser contest representative, Millicent Clyburn.
