A Letter From the Principal...

November 16, 2017

Dear St. Constance School Families,

All are invited to the monthly Family Mass this coming Sunday, November 19th beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Please join us at the regular 8:00 a.m. parish Liturgy on Wednesday, November 29, 2017. Parents, I ask for your assistance in making sure your child arrive to church in a timely manner.

During the Thanksgiving Season we share our gifts with those less fortunate than us. As in years past, each student was asked to bring in an item for St. Stanislaus Kostka Soup Kitchen. Thank you to everyone for their generous donations.

Included in today’s folder you will find information regarding the “Six Flags Read To Succeed Six Hour Reading Club” Program for students in grades K-6. Upon completion, your child will earn a free admission ticket valid at participating Six Flags Theme Parks. Please read this information carefully. All Tracking Sheets (Student Reading Logs) need to be returned to your child’s homeroom teacher no later than Thursday, February 8, 2018. Please note that late entries will not be accepted. Also included in today’s folder, please see information regarding the ZanerBloser National Handwriting Contest. Thank you to Ms. Patricia Prokuski for coordinating both of these programs.

As you know St. Nicholas will be visiting St. Constance Parish on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the church. If you would like to have your child participate, please fill out the enclosed form, enclose payment of $15, and return to either the parish office, school, or REP office by Wednesday, November 29, 2017.

Make sure to mark your calendars for the upcoming holiday season. You are cordially invited to our Christmas “Band Concert” the evening of Monday, December 4th at 7:00 p.m. in the school gymnasium. If your schedule does not allow for you to attend the evening performance, you are more than welcome to join us at the Dress Rehearsal at 12:45 p.m. Thank you to our Band Director, Mrs. Eileen Pavlik and her students for their hard work and preparation of this Holiday Concert.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars and reserve the evening of Thursday, December 14th and join us for our traditional All School Christmas Show which will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Handzel Center Gymnasium under the direction of our Music Director, Mrs. Marie Blecka. Please note that all students in grades Preschool 3 thru grade 8 should arrive at 6:30 p.m. and report directly to their classrooms. All other guests are welcome to proceed directly to the gym. Please join us as we share in the spirit of the season!

It’s that time of year to prepare your shopping lists! This is to notify you that the School Board is hosting their annual “Santa’s Holiday Store” on Friday, December 8, 2017. Each grade will have a designated time and opportunity to do some shopping for that special someone with the assistance of Santa’s helpers. Our thanks are extended to Mrs. Tina Shaheen, Mrs. Kathy Mulac and the School Board for organizing/sponsoring this event for the children. Please see the enclosed flyer for further information.

As you know, Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences for students in grades 1-8 are being held today. We ask that you please adhere to your scheduled time in consideration to all.

The Home and School Association would like to thank all the talented bakers who provided delicious treats for their Holiday Bake Sale last weekend. Gratitude is also sent to all families who stopped by to purchase a dessert or two. Special thanks to these families: Aguado, Blecka, Hrnic, Kaffler, Kala, Markut, Mikrut, Pavlik, Rzepka, Saidla, Sieklucki, Talamantes, Teuber, VanAllman, and Younan. A profit of $403.00 was made to benefit the school.

Thank you also to all who supported our annual Reading For Education program. A profit of $113.00 was earned for the school. Thank you to Ms. Margaret Tanikowska and to all our avid readers.

This is to remind you that per the school calendar, school will be closed for Thanksgiving break November 20-24. Our next Thursday correspondence will take place upon our return on November 30th. Please plan accordingly.

Tomorrow is our “Fall Colors” out of uniform day. As always, appropriate dress reflecting the theme of the day is expected.

This week we would like to thank Ms. Maryna Shutovich for donating $50 each to both the Kindergarten and 4th grade classrooms. We appreciate your generosity.

Finally, on behalf of the entire Faculty and Staff, I would like to extend our best wishes to you and your loved ones this Thanksgiving Season.

Sincerely,

Eva M. Panczyk
Principal
